cross triptic
  1. GOD IS RELATIONAL – We believe that God is love, as revealed in the Bible. The Scriptures do not just say that ‘God is loving’. God Himself is love. This one eternal holy God is relational, with three distinct persons, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, existing together as a community of oneness; a unity in trinity and a trinity in unity. This One God is the Creator and Sustainer of the Universe.
  2. HISTORY IS DIRECTIONAL – We believe that God has a plan. “From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us.” (Acts 17:26-27)
  3. LIFE IS MEANINGFUL – We believe that the primary purpose of the human being is to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever.
Jesus said: “Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.” (John 17:3)
Jesus said: “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” (John 10:10)
  4. THE HEART IS DECEITFUL
The heart of the human problem is the problem of the human heart.
    Jeremiah 17:9
The heart is deceitful above all things
    and beyond cure.
    Who can understand it?
    Isaiah 59:2
    But your iniquities have separated
    you from your God;
your sins have hidden his face from you,
so that he will not hear.
    Matthew 15:19
For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.
    Romans 3:23; 6:23a
“All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” and “The wages of sin is death” (separation from God).
  5. LOVE IS INTENTIONAL – We believe that God loves and acts redemptively.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)
“This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us.” (1 John 3:16)
“For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God.” (1 Peter 3:18)
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.” (1 Corinthians 13:4-5)
  6. NEW LIFE IS AVAILABLE –
“It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone.” (Ephesians 1:10, The Message)
    Romans 10:9-13
“if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. As the Scripture says, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame.” For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile–the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved”.
    John 1:12
Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God–
    2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!
